We dedicate this personal page to everyone who sails with John and me for fun and relaxation and love of the sea.

John Chase

(United States and Canada)

John co-owns Valerie May with Tracy Sarich. He has owned 3 sailboats since 2009, he is a yachtmaster with offshore experience off the West Coast of Vancouver Island, Washington, Oregon and Northern California.

Barnaby Dorfman

(United States)

Barnaby is the person we can thank/blame for everything because he introduced us to sailing on his sailboat “Miss Eulie” in 2000. He has many years on the water in the Pacific NW, sailed extensively in the Bay Area, and delivered “Miss Eulie" round-trip from Seattle to San Francisco.

(United States)

Carey has sailed a variety of boats in the waters of Washington, the inside-passage of Alaska, and in Northern B.C.

Bert Reinecke

(Canada)

Bert is an avid racer with countless hours on the water. His racing includes weekly races out of the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, the VanIsle 360, and multiple Swiftsure races, including at the helm of Valerie Mayat the start of the 2017 Swiftsure.

Adam Thompson

(Canada)

If you know First Yachts in Vancouver, you have met Adam and, surely, gained a wealth of knowledge. An avid racer, he has raced in the Vic-Maui several times as well as in internationally. We’ve known Adam and his dad Pat from day-1 when we bought our first sailboat. Together they have taught us more than we can remember about sailing systems.

Stricia sailed as a teenager numerous summers up and down the California coast to the Baja and has joined us on several sailing adventures in the PNW.
